Mission
The DevOps engineer will provide support and guidance to our Kudelski Security internal stakeholders, as well as build, improve, and maintain the infrastructure that supports the Kudelski Security business. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a high-paced, and highly technical environment, familiar with the DevOps culture of “you build it, you run it” and the open-source world, and is passionate about making our customer’s lives more secure.
Responsibilities
- Participate in deploying our workloads to the public cloud, suggesting how it can be done following Kudelski Security best practices, keeping in mind services’ availability and cost.
- Be proactive:
- Suggest and initiate improvements that could be implemented to better support our stakeholders.
- Being committed to finding and offering solutions to automate all tasks that will be done more than once.
- Actively contribute to internal projects such as tooling and documentation.
- Troubleshoot, solve problems, suggest, and implement fixes to exiting assets.
- Perform and eventually automate technical maintenance duties.
- Acknowledge and resolve alarms from monitoring systems with the help of other engineers.
- Provide hands-on assistance to stakeholders on a wide variety of technical topics, giving valuable instructions.
- Contribute to the overall quality of services we deliver to internal users.
- Respond to tickets and requests on the different support channels we use.
- Obtain and maintain a breadth of ever-changing technical knowledge.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in all environments.
- Work in close collaboration with developer teams to quickly deliver needs based on their requirements.
- Share knowledge with the team, create and keep the documentation up to date, and present achievements.
- Be part on the on-call rotation of the squad.
Requirements / Profile
- 3+ years of recent experience automating, scripting (preference for Python), and developing and programming middlewares using any kind of languages (preference for GoLang).
- Coding abilities is a must. Infrastructure is not only about system administration, rather re-using developers’ techniques to deploy everything as code.
- Knowledge about cloud operations, more specifically Azure (AWS a plus) and code versioning & management and CI/CD (git / gitlab).
- Know about containers, containerized applications, Docker.
- Public cloud knowledge (AWS / Azure) including deployment automation.
- Debugging and problem solving skills: can get to the bottom of things.
- Demonstrated interest in deploying workloads “as code”, leveraging developers’ techniques for infrastructure purposes.
- Curious, ability and willingness to learn on the job, from formal training and mistakes.
- Can work with minimal guidance yet listen and ask for help when needed.
- Conscientious: sense of responsibility with a high level of commitment.
- Reasonable amount of experience using the Linux / OS X command line.
- Flexible: adapts to new situations and can work in a multicultural environment (contact with US, India & Switzerland).
- Fluent in English.
- Preferred: Reasonable interest for security-related topics and knowledge about Gitlab, Kubernetes, Istio & Terraform.
