Data Engineer

Mission
We are seeking an innovative, disciplined, and results-oriented Data Engineer with relevant technical, business, and influencing skills to work in the Data Strategy & Analytics group within the Corporate Finance organization.
As a Data Engineer, you will contribute to the development and execution of our Data Strategy & Analytics roadmap that will help guide the organization’s vision to effectively utilize how we use data and analytics to derive critical insights about our business.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build and support a common Data Strategy & Analytics platform, integrating existing and new data sources, working closely with various business partners to understand and transform their business processes.
- Provide support to our existing Data Strategy & Analytics platform (Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SSAS Cubes, Microsoft Power Platform Administration and Power BI reports).
- Recommend technological solutions to improve overall data quality and data integration across the data platform.
- Develop master data governance framework for the organization, including data governance strategy, approach, and roadmap.
- Establish data dictionary and authoritative sources for the core data elements required to support business processes and reporting.
- Partner with IT and other enterprise data functions to drive the long-term development of our overall Data Strategy & Analytics infrastructure, including data lake, data warehousing, reporting, and analytics platforms.
- Guide research of emerging technologies (i.e., Data Lake, Cloud, Machine Learning, etc.) and propose solutions to implement.
Requirements / Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, or related field
- 3+ years of data engineer experience, including work with transactional, analytic, and multi-dimensional database systems.
- Prior hands-on working experience within Microsoft BI Technology Stack (SQL Server, SSAS Cubes, Power BI Reports, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience utilizing an ETL/ELT tool (Informatica, SSIS, Azure Data Factory etc).
- In-depth knowledge of data concepts, strategies, and data architecture methodologies.
- Experience in data quality, metadata management, data security, reporting, and analytics.
- Experience with designing the data flow of the entire end-to-end systems landscape (i.e., source systems, data integration, consolidation, analytics, and reporting platforms).
- Ability to break down complex problems and projects into manageable goals and align data initiatives with the overall Data Strategy & Analytics landscape.
- Ability to communicate clearly and partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of accounting processes and terminology.
- Flexible and capable of prioritizing competing tasks, timelines, and work streams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience extracting data from relational and document-based databases.
- 1+ years of azure cloud technology experience (Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake)
- 1+ years working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM/F+O.
- PowerShell or other scripting language.
- Experience with finance systems and financial reporting practices.
