Mission

Handle accounting for Spanish entities ensuring meticulous accuracy, steadfast compliance, and timeliness in operations and reporting, while actively contributing to the enhancement of accounting processes and integration of advanced ERP features.

Responsibilities

General Ledger

• Bookeeping for the Spanish entity, including coordination with payroll vendor for salaries payment, bookings and reconciliation.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciled and proceed to profit & loss analysis.
• Maintain fixed asset register according to local rules and Group policy. Ensure correct acquisitions, depreciation, and frequent reviews.
• Handle cost+ agreement and billings (Intercompany).
• Follow up on local surveys, eventual accounting inspections and requirements from authorities.
• Play a pivotal role in financial audits and facilitate interactions with external auditors.

Financial Reporting

• Ensure good quality of accounting information according to local compliance and Group policies (IFRS)
• Produce monthly group reports and annual financial statements.

Procure to pay

• Coordinate purchasing process to ensure requisitions are processed as purchase orders according to company guidelines.
• Oversee accounts payables and expense reports processing for Spanish entity with the support of the shared service center.
• Organize weekly payments of supplier’s invoices and expense reports.

Bank/Treasury

• Monitor cashflow needs for the entity.
• Act as contact person for local banks.
• Reconcile all bank transactions.

Tax

• Efficiently handle and submit monthly VAT return
• Prepare income tax returns related to both employees and company, ensuring accuracy and punctuality.
• Ensure local compliance, taxes declaration and payments and coordinate eventual inspections or requirements from authorities
• Follow up on R&D Funds project from European Union in coordination with external consultant.

Requirements / Profile

- Advanced university degree in Economics / Finance / Business Administration or equivalent.
- Experience of 2-3 years in accounting in Spain for an international company.
- Fluent in English (French, Spanish valuable).
- Advanced mastery over ERP and other financial systems, with a particular aptitude for Excel. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision from management (autonomous).
- Flexibility to swiftly adapt to evolving environments and multitask efficiently.
- Excellent ability to work with other departments, communicate clearly and be a team player.
